ABOUT FRANKSTON LIFE COMMUNITY INC.
For over 30 years, Frankston Life Community Inc (formerly City Life Inc) has been a trusted Not-for-Profit Charitable organization, dedicated to serving Frankston and its surrounding communities. Our roots began with providing shelters for the homeless, and over the years, we expanded our efforts to support the most vulnerable through diverse programs and services.
Our Mission:
We are guided by four core values—Mercy, Connection, Empowerment, and Hope. These principles drive us to help individuals dream, build self-esteem, develop connections, and achieve self-reliance.
OUR PAST WORK IN THE CITY
FOOD SUPPORT AND DISTRIBUTION
Weekly Food Parcels: Distributing hundreds of food parcels to those in need.
Community Restaurant: Serving hot, nutritious meals to up to 100 guests per sitting.
Brekky Club Partnership: Collaborating with the Frankston Breakfast Club to provide breakfast for over 40 vulnerable people daily.
Cornershop Kitchen: Operating an outreach food van to deliver hot meals and support to disconnected youth at local skate parks.
SOCIAL INCLUSION PROGRAMS
Connect Program: Weekly activities including games, football through RECLINK Australia, and concert events.
Street Choir: Bringing the community together through music.
Disability Inclusion: Creating safe volunteer opportunities for individuals with disabilities, promoting dignity and self-respect. This program received a commendation from Nepean School.
MEDICAL AND SUPPORT SERVICES
On-Site Nursing Care: Through partnerships with RDNS & HARP.
Visiting Specialists: Including medical, dental, ophthalmic, and psychiatric professionals.
Support for the Homeless: Free shower and bathroom facilities.
Referral Services: Offering access to legal aid, Centrelink support, and counseling.
VOCATIONAL TRAINING
Previously, we provided vocational and educational opportunities, including:
Ispirato Training Café: Barista and café training for young people.
Certified Training Programs: Including Community Service Work, Kitchen Operations, Urban Discipleship, and Christian Ministry & Theology.
Educational Workshops: “Poverty, Who Cares?” training, educating Frankston police and local organizations on supporting disadvantaged individuals.
COMMUNITY INITIATIVES AND EVENTS
In our history, we have hosted and participated in many impactful community events:
City Life Community Store: Supplying low-cost and free goods while raising funds for programs.
Christmas Day Lunch: Providing meals for up to 500 people at the Frankston Arts Centre, with Council support.
Good Friday in Frankston: Partnering with the Frankston Ministers Network to bring over 3,000 people together on the foreshore.
Agency Collaboration: Sharing insights and offering support to other welfare organizations.
MOVING FORWARD IN 2025!
As we move into 2025, we are excited to launch our new Community Hub, featuring:
Street Chaplains Program: Offering spiritual guidance and support.
Prayer Room & Fellowship Space: A welcoming environment for community connection.
Partner Organization Services: Providing a platform for collaborative support services.
Modern Facilities: Including an industrial kitchen and versatile meeting spaces available for community use and bookings.
We are also preparing for our Annual Community Christmas Lunch, where we expect to serve hundreds of guests with the help of our dedicated volunteers.
